Entering its 17th year, the National Photographic Portrait Prize is one of Australia’s largest photographic photo awards. The prize provides a powerful visual record of the year that was – a celebration of identity, both collective and individual.

In 2024, the winner will receive a cash prize of $30,000 and Canon equipment valued at $20,000 courtesy of the Gallery’s Imaging Partner, Canon Australia.
All finalist works will be exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra from 22 June to 22 September.
