The Melbourne Photography Directory (MPD) was created out of a simple idea: to help people in Melbourne connect with the city’s photography scene.

This site exists as a living map of what’s happening in Melbourne right now. Exhibitions, workshops, talks, photobook launches, community darkroom sessions are here, gathered in one place. The aim is to make it easier to look local, to engage with photography in a way that feels grounded, thoughtful, and present.

Melbourne has a rich and ever evolving photographic community. By bringing together the work of artists, galleries, collectives and educators, the directory hopes to foster more connection between people, practices, and places.

This is a platform for everyone who loves photography in all its forms, whether you’re showing work, learning, collaborating, or simply looking.
